Santa came to town!

Vi was very happy with her treat from Santa.  She had a "Buddy the Elf" breakfast of chocolate donuts and candy canes at the Breakfast with Santa.

Vi is ready for her preschool Christmas program.  I love this little outfit on her.  Her favorite songs this year are "Little Drummer Boy" and "Feliz Navidad."

My goofballs.

 Vi's amazing teacher, Ms. Melissa!

 Waiting to see Santa Claus

So, Vi was enthusiastic this year to see Santa but got a case of stage fright right before we went to talk to him.  She later drew him a picture and sat on his lap to have a chat, but we didn't get a picture.... there's always next year!

Excited to share her Christmas list with Santa: a Rudolph reindeer, a baby doll, play-doh and hopscotch.

TN Vols Homecoming - the game!

Vi's first visit to Neyland Stadium was a hit, she even made it onto the field with no problem.

The Pride of the Southland band gets two thumbs up!

Vi took this picture, not bad.

We made memories, and ate lots of popcorn.

Go Vols!

Vi got her face painted at the alumni dinner, thanks Daddy for giving in.  The face paint is like air-brushed make-up, so no mess.  She cried the next morning after the game when she realized we had wiped it off when she slept.

TN Vols Homecoming

The Smokey sighting we had after the parade was awesome, he is soooo soft!

Vi and Caroline gear up for the Little Vol Walk in the homecoming parade.  Caroline said, "Go Vols!" while Vi said "War Eagle!" WRONG TEAM, VI!

The KD girls in the crowd loved our sign and asked for pictures, they were a big hit!

They had so much fun together, ahhhh memories at Neyland Stadium

Happy Halloween!

It's Halloween!  I don't recognize these kids in my garage.

Ready to trick-or-treat

We saw a few Minnies out, but Vi really was the cutest one :)

Cruze Farm Pumpkin Patch

Adults and kids alike had a great day on our pumpkin patch visit this year near Kodak, TN

We learned that Vi could have a future career in churning milk for butter, she loved this thing!

Vogue, strike a pose, even if you are on a farm (with Caroline!)

Our friend France's family runs the farm; we had delicious Cruze family beef hamburgers and home-made ice cream from their dairy.  So yummy!

Bad Mommy

I can't believe that it has been *slapping my hand repeatedly* 4 months since I have posted about Vi. It's unbelievable because there really is so much to share since she is so active and keeps us laughing all of the time! The biggest news is that Vi had a birthday on September 10th. She is 3 years old! Her favorite part of her birthday was the Scooby-Doo cake made by Grandma (and who allowed her to lick the yummy chocolate spoon!). She still talks about this and says that she wants one next year, too.

Mommy and Daddy brought cupcakes to Vi's classroom on her birthday. She put on her "everyone look at me / modest" face when they sang Happy Birthday to her. It was cute.

Happy Birthday to our silly 3 year-old Vi!

Blah to Bam! Vi's room make-over

Since Vi is going through a transformation of her own from little baby to big girl, we decided it was time for her room to see some changes as well. This room was pretty blah when we moved in the new house with tan carpet and tan walls, and when I purchased the tan curtains.... it definitely looked like a big tan blob - but we had plans in mind!

We had originally painted and re-purposed the entire dresser and shelves, and then realized that the drawers were warped and would not work. So..... I used burlap to create a front cover and bought some hardware that matched the hardware on the curtain rods for the extra drawer placed on top of the original dresser. Using the burlap to cover the front allowed us to still use the shelving on the inside of the dresser.

The biggest change is the wall color - PINK it is for our princess!

I made the French Memory Board for some of Vi's creations from an old canvas wrapped in burlap. Just to give it a "gallery" feel, I also framed some mini postcards of the Degas dancers.

Paw's old bed gets a coat of white paint, too! We do not have a large budget for extras, so we definitely re-purposed as much as possible, and it has all turned out beautifully and just the right size for Vi!

We will eventually purchase this wall decal and finish our girly/outdoor/Luxembourg Gardens theme in Vi's room. I'm hoping this will make her want to sleep in there, instead of in Mommy and Daddy's room.
